EN 9100 and EN 9006
The aerospace industry established the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) for the purpose of achieving significant improvements in quality and safety.
EN 9100:2003 - Quality Management Systems - Aerospace - Requirements
Three international standards have been prepared by the IAQG, the EN 9100:2003 in Europe, the AS9100 Revision B in the Americas and the JISQ9100:2004 in Asia. These are identical and standardize, as much as possible, QMS requirements for the aerospace industry. This is the first global aerospace standard to meet the requirements of aerospace companies worldwide.
EN 9006 - Quality Management Systems - Aerospace - Requirements for Software
This supplement to EN 9100 clarifies the unique requirements for the supplier of deliverable software. The software may be embedded or loadable into a target computer by the same organization. Software may also be delivered as an end item from a software-only organization. In either case, the organization must meet the requirements of EN 9100 and this supplement.
Why EN 9100 and EN 90006?
They are necessary to meet international aerospace and defence requirements and are an extension of ISO 9001 that fits the continuous improvement path.
