About Quality
Quality has been a strategic issue at Critical since its foundation in 1998. The continuous improvement of software development processes in accordance with recognized international standards has allowed us to reach a level of singular maturity in Portugal. Critical's Quality Management System (QMS) is in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 standard using the TickIT scheme, the first Iberian company to hold this. Critical was also the first Portuguese IT company to achieve the NATO/AQAP 2110 and AQAP 150 Certification (NATO quality assurance requirements for design, development and production and NATO quality assurance requirements for software) and CMMI maturity level 5 (principles and practices underlying software process maturity). In addition, Critical was the first Portuguese company to gain EN9100 and 9006 certification (requirements for the aerospace industry).
Nowadays, quality is an important and distinctive factor and it gives us the advantage in an extremely competitive market. We deliver our customers’ projects on time and on budget and we offer high quality solutions and value for money.
Quality processes and practices in Critical include organisation and management, engineering, support, control, audit. They are tailored according to each project and our customers’ specific needs. This flexibility allows us to tackle challenging projects successfully.
Our QMS improvement is continuous and triggered by feedback from our customers in accordance with international standards and practices of software engineering, such as CMMI Models, ISO 15504 - Process Assessment (also known as SPICE - Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination), ISO 12207 - Software Life Cycles and ESA standards.
